I was going through my fabric cupboard (yes! I actually have a cupboard devoted to fabric!), to dare I say....add MORE...Shhh don't tell my hubby(!), when I thought that it might be nice to share some of my vintage finds with you!
I am addicted to vintage and retro designed fabrics. Call me obsessive, but it is a genetic thingie! Both my Nan and Mum loved sewing, so it was bound to rub off! Coincidently, one of my first jobs after leaving school, was working for a fabric importing company in Melbourne! I can hear myself down in the warehouse now yelling, "WOOHOO......LET ME AT IT!!!!"
I am still deciding what to make with this lot? Any suggestions? I was thinking some cute vintage style aprons with vintage lace detail and doily pockets! ....or a 1950's (dress with the larger pieces)! Anyway, I hope you enjoy the sensory experience of these pictures The designs and colours shout out "Happy!" and "Fun!".
These two pieces are my most recent purchases off Ebay!
Any suggestions? This is quite a big piece I just love the orange!
I love this fabric with its orange roses and cream background. It is actually a single doona cover!
Again....any suggestions on what I could transform it into? A 1950's tea dress perhaps?
Hmmmmm.....I have NO IDEA with this one! It strikes me as being very "kitcheny", so maybe some vintage style aprons are the go here?
Next...aprons? Tea Dress? What do you think?
This fabric is a cute seersucker. I think I have a thing about orange at the moment, don't you?
Obviously, this is for the younger generation Any suggestions?
I would love to hear your ideas! Please feel free to leave comments!
I hope that you have had delicious day, and that you have indulged your creativity in some way today. If not, there is always tomorrow!
Blessings!
