Winter Wonders

Hello my Lovelies!

It's great to be on school holidays with the kids, and to have the time to chat with you! I don't know where the last Term has gone, but it has certainly been both inspirational and busy! In between time, I have caught the winter crochet bug!

Our beautiful new addition to the family, Baby Matthew Xavier in Melbourne, has been my inspiration to create my first crochet blanket! It's finally finished, and both mum and Bub love it (I hope!). Here are some snaps of the work in progress!

Squares in progress, still with their "dangly" bits!

Ready to stitch together!

All Stitched up and ready for the next step!

I had this gorgeous vintage bunny print fabric that I decided to back the blanket with
 - softer that wool on a baby's sensitive, delicate skin!

........ALL FINISHED and ready to Post!!!

Winter time for me, typically means cuddling up under warm blankies, homemade pumpkin soup, drizzling days (typical of growing up in Melbourne), scarves, beanies and hot water bottles! I also get a craving to knit or crochet something.....ANYTHING!!!! I am now working on a pale musk pink scarf (crochet). It's a new crochet design that I most humbly found in one of my Mum's old needlecraft books from the 1960's! (...dare I say, published the same year that I was born!). I feel quite nostalgic whilst working on this piece, it reminds me of my Darling mum, who I miss terribly. If only there was a direct link from here to Heaven! At least there is one in my heart.

Anyhoo, I would love to know what Winter means to you? What do you love about Winter? What don't you like about Winter? What happy childhood memories do you have about Winter? What are some of your favourite Winter foods?

...Hmmmmm....now I'm getting hungry! Time for a hot chocolate me thinks!

Blessings!
